I called and pointed out that during my four year history with them, I'd had virtually NO chargebacks or cases of fraud -- which proved I was not a risk. They didn't care. I was devastated. Over 95% of my sales were credit cards orders and, in just 30 days, I would no longer be able to accept them! "I Rushed Out and Hired a New Provider, Who So I hurried to get a new merchant account, and found a provider who promised not only to accept credit cards, but also to provide me with a turnkey e-commerce merchant package.

After ten days, I called the provider to see why the shopping cart hadn't yet been installed -- and for that matter, why they hadn't called me to get the server info they needed to install the software. Originally, they had promised me that this would be a painless, "hands free" process -- they said that they would do everything for me. Now the truth came out! "They" only provided the merchant accounts. The shopping cart and gateway software were installed by third parties they'd contracted!
"I Was Losing Money Every Day
So I called the gateway company directly. After some prodding, they promised to install the software the following week. Ten days went by. When I called to check on the status of my account, they told me that the software was installed and working. Boy, was I relieved! But when I went to my site and tried to put an order through on my credit card to test the system... IT DID NOT WORK! Even worse, when I called them back they asked, "What did you do to screw it up"? I was offended. I explained that I'd done nothing except try to place an order! It wasn't my fault it didn't work! They said they would look into it.
Meanwhile, I was very frustrated and losing a lot of money. How would you feel? Finally, they told me their software was working fine, and that the problem was with the shopping cart software. Of course, the shopping cart software was made by another company. They steered me back to the original merchant account provider to find out if anything was wrong with my account. They told me that if this was not the case, then I should contact the shopping cart company. I thought to myself...
"Everyone Blamed Each Other... ... And Meanwhile, I Was Losing When I called the original merchant account company, they told me that my account was in perfect condition... and that the problem was with the shopping cart software. Then, when I called the shopping cart company, they blamed the problem on the gateway software. When I called the gateway company again, they said their software had been installed on thousands of computers, worked perfectly, and that the problem was the shopping cart software! In other words...they blamed each other and gave me the runaround! I spent two months making phone calls, writing letters and email, yelling, screaming, and pleading with them -- and I still got nowhere! At that point, I was losing a fortune in business, and had to buy another shopping cart. I spent $400 out of my own pocket to fix THEIR mistake! As it turns out, these aggravations are common today. Thousands of online business owners are misled by companies who promise "complete packages" but in reality, contract outside companies to provide the e-commerce extras.
