Editorial: "Ha! Made you look!" Or, how to capture -- and keep -- your visitors' attention

Derek"Words are more powerful than atom bombs" -- someone famous once said that, and the quote has stuck with me for years.

When it comes to selling online, that's definitely true... Because NOTHING can explode your sales like the words you use in your salescopy.

If you think the old adage "pictures say 1000 words" works for online marketing, guess again!

According to the Eyetracker III study -- in which researchers used special "eyetracking" technology to study how people tend to view web pages -- visitors almost ALWAYS look at words before they look at images.

That means you'd better make sure your words say something that hooks their interest!

An eye-catching, benefit-filled headline, followed by powerful copy that compels your visitors to read down the page, can mean the difference between 1000s of dollars in sales each month -- or 100s of dollars each month.

Which do you want to see on your monthly bank statements???

But it's not just WHAT you say -- it's where you say it.

Research studies show that visitors on a web page tend to focus most of their attention on the left 1/3 of headlines and text blurbs, and scan over the rest.

What does that mean to you?

It means you've got to use your most powerful, most captivating words at the BEGINNING of your headline, subheadline, and introductory paragraph -- not in the middle or end.

(The same rule applies to blog post or article titles and introductory paragraphs -- you've got to start them off with a bang!

So instead of writing a headline like...

Dog obedience expert explains how you can
Completely have your puppy housetrained in just 3 days

After reading this report, you'll never have to
Clean up another "accident" again!


Rewrite it so the most compelling words are all on the left, like so:

Discover the secret tricks "dog experts" use to...

Housetrain your puppy
In 3 days
or less!


No more "accidents"... and no more smelly messes to clean up!

In the first example, the most eye-catching phrases are, "Dog obedience," "Completely have," "After reading this," and "Clean up another."

In the second example, the attention-grabbing phrases are, "Discover the secret," "Housetrain," "In 3 days," and "No more 'accidents.'"

Can you see how the second example gets the most important ideas across right away?

Remember, you only have a maximum of 10 seconds to grab your visitors' attention and compel them to stay on your site. You have to make every second count by "wowing" them with the words that make them want to keep reading.

As always, whenever you make a change to your website, be sure to split-test the old version against the new to see which gets the best results.

But if you keep on making minor tweaks, and building on your improvements, I guarantee you'll see an atomic explosion in your sales numbers!

The "hidden" way to make $83,000 in 3 hours -- without a product, without a list, and at zero cost

I've asked him to share this strategy with you. But Bob's gone one step further and created a video that outlines the entire process!

I have a secret. A big, fat, juicy secret that's hiding in plain sight.

What if I were to tell you that with as little as 20 minutes of training in how to use this secret, you could rack up profits of $83,000?

Believe it or not, this is actually quite easy to do. But few people even have a clue of the method I'm talking about. And the incredible thing is, anyone can learn how to use this method to achieve incredible wealth -- regardless of whether you're a complete marketing rookie or a seasoned pro.

In fact, to use this method successfully, you don't even have to have:
  • A Product or Service
  • Business experience
  • A web site
  • A list

20 minutes to 5-figure profits (Or, the "Toll Gate" path to massive wealth!)

You've probably heard of "licensing" products as a way to make money.

You have a product, and your client wants to use it. But you don't want to sell it to them outright, because you want to retain the rights to that product yourself. So your client pays you a fee to use your product, rather than own it.

It's just like leasing a car. Or like using the operating system that comes with your PC or MAC. You don't own that operating system, you license it from Microsoft or Apple. That's why you can't resell your operating system to someone else.

However, did you know you can also licence strategies -- such as MARKETING CAMPAIGNS?

And when a client uses your marketing campaign to earn great revenues, they have to pay you a fee -- plus a percentage of their profits!

Here's how it works... you find one client who has a great customer list, and another company who has a great product but no one to sell it to. Then YOU put a deal together between them, with you in the middle "Toll Gate" position, collecting a share of the profits from each side!

If you think this strategy might be too advanced for you, rest assured, I know many total newbies who have achieved incredible results with "Toll Gate Joint Ventures." (You'll get to meet some of them in a moment.)

Best of all, this strategy doesn't take any time to learn... In fact, I recently spent a grand total of 20 minutes teaching a client of mine, Rob Long, how to make "Toll Gate Joint Ventures" work for him.

And with just 20 minutes of training, Rob racked up $83,000 right out of the gate!

(Not only that -- his total investment was less than 3 hours of his time, and he didn't spend a dime of his own money!)

Rob certainly isn't my only client who has made amazing money using one of my licensing strategies. Here are a few more examples of what my clients are doing right now:

  • There's Pam who used one little trick to get 4 new cars -- and another trick to make much, much more…
  • Then there's Michael who built a 7-figure business selling basketball training videos with just one hilariously simple tactic. (Plus he makes more and more every day.)
  • Then there's Jim Johnson, who used a simple strategy I licensed to him to grow his business of selling in-depth data analysis to banks (not exactly the most glamorous business). Jim's goal was to increase his sales by 30% -- instead, he rocketed his sales growth by a remarkable 700%.
  • But the craziest story has got to be Hakim, who put together a 25-million-dollar deal without hardly lifting a finger. (The really crazy thing was when his 19-year-old son put together a multi-million dollar deal using the exact same strategy.)
And there are many, many others just like these folks who are making their fortunes licensing proven marketing campaigns.

Why am I telling you about them?

Because if THEY can do it, you can, too. One of the most important lessons I've learned in over 25 years in marketing is that the best way to achieve success is to model the success of others!

It makes absolutely no sense to attempt to "reinvent the wheel" and waste a ton of time and money when the model has already been built for you.

In fact, that's how Mike Long made his fortune...

Four years ago, Mike was a rank beginner in the online marketing world. Now, he takes home 7 figures per year. And he didn't have to wait years to make serious money -- he started making 6 figures right away, without investing a lot of money he didn't have.
